Today, I want to share with you step by step instructions on how to link NIN to phone number.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had instructed all the telecommunications operators in Nigeria to block all the SIM cards that are not registered with National Identity Numbers by the end of December 2020. Based on this policy, everyone is expected to link NIN with his phone number before December 31, 2020. Failure to link your phone number with NIN before the deadline will lead to disconnection or blocking of the line.
With this new policy, it is now mandatory that new SIM card registration should be done with a National ID. According to the Nigerian Identity Management Commission (NIMC), subscribers can link their NIN to more than one phone number.
If you haven’t registered for a National ID card, you can do so by visiting any of the approved centers nearest to you.
If you have registered for National Identity Number, follow the step below to link your phone number with NIN:
== > If you have already enrolled in NIMC or National ID card but forgot your NIN, simply dial *346# retrieve your NIN. This USSD code works for all networks in Nigeria such as MTN, GLO, Airtel, and 9mobile.
